Karl's name was given to me by a supplier. We checked out and verified his work with previous clients and architects Karl worked with – all had given very positive feedback with regard to carrying out work to a good standard, on programme and within budget. As such, we were happy to recommend to our clients to include his company on tender lists. Karl's company is competitive and won tenders on medium to large projects. Karl employs a competent quantity surveyor who financially controls the job from a contractor's point of view and provides costings with breakdowns when required. So the support at every stage of the job is very professional and very thorough.

Does Karl introduce new ideas?
Definitely, and that's especially useful in restoration projects where things may not seem to be what they are behind the scenes. Karl employs experienced and trustworthy staff on site.

How do the projects run?
Very well. What they deliver in terms of quality is high-end.

The project delivery is also excellent. Karl's office is very responsive to architect/client queries relating to confirmation of programmes and schedules. They are efficient in planning and executing the projects on time. For example, in the case of bad weather, Gray Construction are well able to adapt and progress with internal works to mitigate the damage to the overall construction programme.

What was the biggest benefit to you of using Gray Construction Ltd?
The construction process is quite complex and in managing it, particularly restoration projects, challenges present themselves. How Karl deals with the challenges sets him apart from a lot of contractors. And if issues arise post-completion, Karl's ‘after sales service’ is one of the best out there and sets him apart from a lot of contractors.
